The forum was held on Thursday 24th September 2009 at the Ceylon Continental Hotel and was a melting pot of senior business leadership and technology expertise with educational and information presentations and a lively and interactive panel discussion. The forum focuses on clarifying how technology needs to be applied to satify the demands of business. The forum was led by key technology and industry leaders including Dr. Anush Amarasinghe, Chief Operating Officer, Millennium IT, Kavan Ratnayake, Chief Executive Officer, Dialog Broadband, Madu Ratnayake, General Manager Sri Lanka, Virtusa, Ravi Fernando, CEO Sri Lanka Institute of Nano-Technology (SLINTEC), Rohan Muttiah, Chief Information Officer, Commercial Bank, Sriyan de Silva Wijeyeratne, Country Manager, Microsoft and Sujiva Devaraja, Executive Vice President / Head of IT Sector, JKH. MTI Consulting identified that at a strategic management level, there are opportunities to strengthen the link between strategic direction and technology’s impact on business. The forum based on MTI’s technology model, covered how technology can optimize business, the management of technology, risk management and IT enabled innovation. In addition, these presentations are supplemented by an extensive CxO survey across all industries in Sri Lanka examining the way technology is seen today. The interactive panel discussion provided valuable insights on some of the key challenges that IT leaders are faced with today.
